In the morning they see deer pass through the woods, across the almost 12 acre property, but I don't have a photo to show you....yet. I did see a group of five deer run through Cadence Point when it was completely wooded, so I'm glad to hear they've returned, if only passing through.

As above, so below
We're going vertical....here are a few photos of the work in progress....the Grove, one of the Charleston inspired, 'free-standing townhomes' in the center of Cadence Circle, is being framed and the foundation of the Maple on the hill, one of the craftsman style homes, is being laid....we expect to have both completed by or before April of next year. Both designs reflect Brevard's architectural history.
Accompanying this change of altitude, are cool evenings and mornings, suggesting the beginning of the change of seasons. Check back for updates of current conditions and predictions from the National Forests of North Carolina, http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/.
Here's their Weekly Fall Color Update 08/28/09:
"Year in and year out, the last two weeks in October are usually the best time to view fall colors on the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests. However, due to the wide variations in elevation and the incredible diversity of tree species, it is not unusual for "leaf lookers" to start seeing the first hint of fall color in the the Southern Appalachians higher elevations ( above 5,000 feet) in late September and early October.
In October, as nighttime temperatures drop and light frosts occur, fall color usually starts showing up on exposed ridgelines and works its way down to the mountain valleys by the end of October. Good color can often linger in the valleys and protected south facing slopes well into November."
